Tavolino: is this the best view in London?
What's a restaurant's recipe for success? Is it the view? The food? The team? At sunday we think it's about the full package, and making the customer experience as good as it could possibly be.

Overlooking Tower Bridge, it’s no wonder Tavolino is a serious crowd pleaser. But it’s not just the riverside and alfresco dining that have people hooked. With a focus on fresh, seasonal produce, the menu is authentically Italian with handmade pastas, moreish antipasti and boozy aperitivi.
We sat down with the general manager Jo, (and maybe with a negroni…) to talk tagliolini, and a little about sunday.
We are a restaurant that prides itself on fresh and high quality food at affordable prices. Whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or just after a casual meal, Tavolino is a place for every wallet.
So far it’s been an incredible journey. I’ve had great feedback from our guests and our team, who jumped on onboard super quickly. People don’t like change, but this is an amazing way to pay the bill and make things quicker.
Also, working with sunday and the professional team behind it has been great!
We aren’t necessarily seeing tables turn faster, but sunday is enhancing the guest experience when it comes to paying the bill, and it let’s people leave a little faster, especially if they’re on a lunch break and only have an hour to enjoy their stay. It’s super convenient, and we’re seeing 65% of our customers pay through sunday. It’s brilliant

The team love sunday. Many of them are making a lot in tips these days. We’re probably talking a 30% increase on the normal takings, plus they’re getting service charge too. (100% of service charge goes towards the team at Tavolino, which is not the case in all restaurants)
Our clientele is varied – we have everything from the office-types, families, people celebrating something special. People of different ages. With those that choose to pay with sunday, the feedback remains super positive
Depending on the occasion, we are seeing a lot of people split the bill. It’s probably used the most during lunchtime service, as many want to pay just for what they ordered.
When it comes to presenting sunday, there isn’t really a so-called script. It depends on who we are speaking to, but will always introduce it at some point in the service. Sometimes it’s at the beginning to view the menu, other times it’s halfway through service when people will just say “hey what’s that?”. But it’s a natural process, when it comes to integrating it into service.
sunday is different to other QR code payments I’ve come across and used in the past. It’s just so much easier, it’s not confusing, and it’s very straightforward. You can view the menu, pay and split the bill, and it’s a really convenient way of ending your great date or whatever you’re celebrating!
We work with Zonal, and didn’t have any issues integrating with sunday. The integration as a whole has been super successful, really fast and super efficient, so well done.
I would recommend sunday to any businesses, small or larger, whatever the location as it’s a great addition, super helpful for viewing the menu, paying the bill, getting a bit of extra revenue and for your teams to make them happy.
